Please join us for the annual AWS Summit in Kuala Lumpur on 26th of April, 2016. Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at the AWS Summit. This free event is designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers information on architecture best practices and new services. Dr. Werner Vogels, Chief Technology Officer, Amazon.com
Dr. Werner Vogels is Chief Technology Officer at Amazon.com where he is responsible for driving the company’s technology vision, which is to continuously enhance the innovation on behalf of Amazon’s customers at a global scale.

Prior to joining Amazon, he worked as a researcher at Cornell University where he was a principal investigator in several research projects that targeted the scalability and robustness of mission-critical enterprise computing systems. He has held the positions of Research Engineer, VP of Technology and CTO in companies that handle the transition of academic technology into industry. Vogels holds a Ph.D. from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and has authored many articles for journals and conferences, most of them on distributed systems technologies for enterprise computing.

Q: Who should attend AWS Summit?
Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at an AWS Summit. These events, held around the world, are designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers deep technical content to be more successful with AWS.

All AWS Summits feature a keynote address highlighting the latest announcements and customer testimonials, technical sessions led by AWS engineers. You will learn best practices for deploying applications on AWS, optimizing performance, monitoring cloud resources, managing security, cutting costs, and more. You will also have opportunities to meet AWS staff and partners to have your technical questions answered.

Q: What is the price of registration?
AWS Summit registration is FREE and will give you access to a keynotes and over 20 sessions from AWS and our partners.

Q: What is included in Summit registration?
Summit registration gives you access to the Keynote, Breakout Sessions, and Exhibition showcase, as well as, receptions held within the conference area. There will be lunch and refreshments provided.

Q: Will there be complimentary parking?
We will be giving out complimentary parking coupons to first 200 attendees.

Q: Can I get a confirmation of my Summit registration?
Upon completing the online registration process, you will be emailed a confirmation email with details from aws-asean-marketing@amazon.com. If you have already registered and can’t see this email, please check your junk mail folder.

Q: Can I sign up for sessions I want to attend?
During the registration process you can indicate your interested in attending on the breakout session. You are not locked into the session and free to change and attend on the day depending on room capacity. Please note, registration does not guarantee a seat; on the day of the event sessions will be filled on a first come first seated basis.

Q: Will I need to register myself for each breakout session?
Breakout sessions will be filled on a first come first seated basis. As seats are not guaranteed there is no need to pre-register.

Q: Will the slides be shared after the event?
Yes they will be made available on https://aws.amazon.com/summits/kuala-lumpur and communicated to you in the ‘Thank You’ email after the event.

Q: What is the AWS Summit Code of Conduct?
AWS expects all Summit participants (attendees, staff, speakers, sponsors, etc.) to behave in such a way as to create a safe, supportive learning environment while at the conference and any conference-related events.

AWS will not tolerate any form of harassment or offensive speech or behavior, including relating to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability. Participants engaging in behavior deemed by AWS as discriminatory or offensive will be asked to leave the conference or related event immediately. Anyone witnessing such behavior is encouraged to contact an AWS staff member so direct action can be taken.
