Vietjet Air Malaysia Zero Fares Promo is Customer-Deceiving & Unethical

Vietjet Air Malaysia advertised the following zero fares promotion to create buzz among customers to wait for the specific time to book zero fares:

However, during the specified booking time, customers were not able to search for any zero fares between August and December 2016, (for example KL - Ho Chi Minh City return trip) the cheapest fares is RM3.39 per flight. This might be alright if it was all-in ticket price.

However, once you select the cheapest RM3.39 fares, you will get the shock of your life that there were hidden charges amounted to RM128++ for each flight, meaning the total was RM277.85!!! How could this be called zero fares promo when you can actually buy the same return trip from AirAsia during AirAsia Free Seats Promotion for less than RM140, which is only half of what you pay for Vietjet Air?

This customer-deceiving tactic shows how desperate and unethical Vietjet Air Malaysia is to drive sales. Smart consumers don’t buy from companies practicing bad practice like this!

homicidal85: ticket price RM10 for 4 people = RM509?? macam nika scam.

they list the following
ticket RM10
charge RM495
tax RM0

like this, you give cheap tickets also doesnt mean anything coz then have to pay charge. its like i open restaurant, i tell everyone its free food but then when they come i tell them have to pay rm50 charge to eat the free food.

VJ penipu scammer.

Vietjet Malaysia Deletes Customer’s Facebook Comment Complaining Customer-Deceiving Promo Ad

We posted a comment complaining the deceiving promo on Vietjet’s Facebook post announcing the deal. However, within a few hours, our comment disappeared from the Facebook post.

This shows that Vietjet does not listen to customer’s feedback and only allows positive comment on its Facebook page. Such a company will never improve and will continue its bad and unethical marketing practices in the future. Smart consumers will never support such company.

Rizz Mohd: Vietjet. Pls correct your ads. This is seriously misleading. RM9 is fare before add the fix flight charges. Unlike AA, the fare is breakdown to details, very transparent n validated. Wrong way marketing dude. After all AA still the cheapest.

Lisa Sani: I agree…this is totally misleading!

Low Lee Wah: After add all the charges, seems to come up to over rm250+. Tried during zero fare also same thing…

More complaints posted on Vietjet Air’s Facebook ads deceiving uneducated customers into buying the scammed (extremely high priced but disguised as RM9 cheap fares or zero-fare) tickets.

Loh Pak Lin: After making some comparison find AirAsia is still cheaper.

James Kitching: This is illegal advertising under the Malaysian consumer law.

Emi Md Nor: :unamused: no need said as a promotion “RM9” if you still have another charge!

Thilak Manokaran: Lying dont believe this.there is hidden charges…
