AirAsia will no longer allow Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile phones on any flights
Please be informed that AirAsia will no longer allow Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile phones on any of our flights from midnight tonight (0001h GMT +8, 17 October 2016) due to safety concerns.
This follows the recent US Department of Transport’s ban on the device and reports of replacement units catching fire.
Guests are not permitted to carry the Galaxy Note 7 - including recalled and replacement devices - on their person, in cabin bags, in check-in baggage or as cargo.
Any guests found with the device will be denied boarding.
The prohibition applies to all flights operated by AirAsia Group, comprising AirAsia Malaysia (carrier code AK), AirAsia Thailand (FD), AirAsia Indonesia (QZ), AirAsia Philippines (Z2), AirAsia India (I5), Malaysia AirAsia X (D7), Thai AirAsia X (XJ) and Indonesia AirAsia X (XT).

Safety of passengers and crew is of utmost priority at Malaysia Airlines. In the interest of safety, carriage of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device is prohibited on all Malaysia Airlines flights with immediate effect. The device must not be transported on any person, carry-on baggage, or checked-in baggage on all of our flights. We appreciate your cooperation.

Please take note:
The Samsung Galaxy Note7 device is now prohibited on-board all Jetstar flights.
This is due to concerns regarding potential fire risk from the device’s battery after a number of incidents worldwide, and follows a ban put in place by regulators overseas.
The ban applies to devices being carried onto the aircraft, in carry on baggage as well as check-in luggage.
Other Samsung devices are not affected.

PETALING JAYA, 17 OCT 2016 – Malindo Air today officially announced that due to safety concerns the carriage and checking in of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 smartphone is prohibited on all Malindo Air’s flights with immediate effect from 12.01am Tuesday, 18 October 2016.
Passengers are NOT permitted to carry the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, and those in possession of the device, including recalled and replaced phones – on the person or even in their check-in luggage – will be denied boarding. This ban is due to concerns regarding potential fire risk from the device’s battery after a number of incidents worldwide.
